Welcome to The Computer Club's Home Page
The Computer Club is a teaching organization dedicated to helping you become a better computer user. We help all levels of users, from the raw beginner to the very experienced user. We offer classes on all types of hardware and software programs, guest speakers who keep us current on the latest developments in computers, and question and answer sessions where all computer related subjects are welcomed.
A Look Back At The Beginning
The Computer Club was formed in January 1995.
At the time there were forty-eight charter members who joined together to begin The
Computer Club. In February of 1995, The Computer Club established its
first set of by-laws. By year-end, the membership had swelled to 157 members.
Club Officers for the first year were:
- Gerry Hoyt, President
- Fanny Baldacchini, Vice-President
- Jeane Burditt, Secretary
- Wolfgang Piaskowski, Treasurer
- Helmut Joks, At-Large Board Member
- Fran Kosnik, At-Large Board Member
- John Murphy, At-Large Board Member
In 1996, The Computer Club was led by Patti Vohdin, President, Phyllis
Yulson, First Vice-President, Helmut Joks, Second Vice-President, Eileen LeMay, Secretary
and Fanny Baldacchini, Treasurer.
Using a computer is frequently a frustrating learning experience if no one is around to
help, but through the generosity of our many faithful members, who teach and make home
visits, many new computer users have become proficient in their use.
